Veterans and Bomb Threats

So today was the second day of veteran’s appreciation week at the school. It’s really cool, there is a helicopter from Vietnam the quad. It’s going to be here all week. I got some pictures of it below. There was also a bomb threat in front of the Ucen today. The Ucen is like a mini mall on campus. It has stores, restaurants and a post office. So, the area was quickly blocked off and those in the blast zone were ushered by the police into the Ucen basement. The Ucen was built in the early 80’s during the cold war, and the basement was built like a giant bomb shelter in case of soviet attack.
Anyway, the “bomb” ended up just being a box of wires and junk that an electrical engineering student had forgotten. The student’s name was Zoey. She’s kind of a tomboy, and really smart. She’s eaten with me and my friends before. Her father is a mechanic, and her mother worked for NASA, until the shuttle program was shut down. She had dinner with me and the gang tonight and we gave her a hard time about it, she is always forgetting things at the table when she leaves.
