I'm Back

            Hey everyone it's been a busy month. Everything has been pretty calm. We've spent our days fortifying the house. I've been hard at work on a cure, and I think I've made a breakthrough. The virus is not a virus at all, it's a parasitic fungus which spreads like a virus, and acts as a bacteria.The fungus enters the system and begins fusing itself with you biology on a the DNA level. After it kills you it takes control of basic brain function, and drives the body to spread the fungus. Hunger is the best way because it is such a base brain function. The problem is that it has no cognition to control the hunger so they eat anything. As the body decays fungus grows stronger and stops the decay at a point where the creature can still travel it can even heal to a limited degree. As long as the fungus get nutrition from the Psychs victims it should live perpetually.

            The interesting thing about the fungus is that it's ability to survive is based on the ability of the human to resist treatment. Every time we gave an anti-viral the fungus would survive because the human could survive, this is also why my mother never turned. She was on immune system suppressing drugs to keep her from rejecting her lung. These drugs are what killed the fungus. When my mother was infected the drugs she took weakened the fungus making it unable to adapt, then the anti-biotics my mother took killed it all together, or so I thought. the bacteria can't be killed that easily but it can be subdued, and over time with daily treatments I think I can get rid of it. After death the fungus grows in the body my mothers fever caused damage to the brain so the fungus couldn't control it, yet it lives on until it consumes the body. From now on we burn every psych we kill.

            I need to test my theories the only problem is I have no test subject. I really need some rats but they're all gone. The interesting thing is this isn't the only fungus of it's kind. I can think of another similar to this. the first was in the Amazon. Ant were behaving oddly climbing trees and dying. It ended up being a fungus which took over the brains of the ants and propelled them to the tree where the spores could burst out  and spread. I believe what we are dealing with is an ancestor to this fungus, and the one in the amazon simply adapted to more defenseless creatures. God gave man a mind stronger than any other creature, and we will defeat this.
